Management training courses. LGMA is a joint sponsor of scholarship at the University of Canberra’s Senior Management Course and the AIM Executive Development Course.
Management Challenge. This national LGMA competition officers unique team development training for local government throughout Australia.
Diploma of Management (Local Government). A LGMA/TAFE Diploma, available for both classroom and distance learning.
Graduate Education. Leading graduate programs with a consortium of Australian universities.
International Exchange Programs. Enable members to attend equivalent national conferences in the UK, USA, South Africa and New Zealand, and to complete two week residential exchanges with host local government. LGMA offers scholarships supporting participation in these programs.
Leadership Development Program. An intensive leadership training program for senior managers in local government.
Manager Exchanges. Provide opportunities for members to enhance their skills and knowledge through exchanges with other local governments locally and interstate.
Regional and special interest networks
A regional branch network covering all councils in WA provides members with regular opportunities locally to network with colleagues and to participate in training and development activities.
