A person is eligible to be a candidate for election as a Director if:
(a) he or she is a Fellow member or a Member member
(b) he or she is, at the Close of Nominations, a Financial member; and
(c) a valid nomination for that person is received by the Returning Officer before Close of Nominations during the Nomination Period.
There are 12 elected members of the Board. Board members are elected for 2 years with elections for half the Board every year. Sometimes because of special circumstances such as a Board member retiring early there may be an election for more than 6 positions in a year. In this case the person(s) who is elected but with the least number of votes will be elected for one year only.
Affiliate members are not eligible to be elected to the Board but have the right to vote for Board members.
Election day each year is the day before the Annual General Meeting which is held during the Annual State Conference.
