Executive Management Program

The next Executive Management Program will take place from 5-7 May 2009, venue to be confimed. A program and registration form will be available early 2009. This specifically designed, interactive program represents a unique learning opportunity for local government professionals requiring an in-depth understanding of the role and responsibilities of the CEO in Local Government in Western Australia.

The program is intended for individuals seeking a better understanding of executive management in Local Government, including those new to the industry, those who aspire, or have recently been appointed,  to a CEO or Senior Manager Position in LG or existing senior managers seeking a refresher. 

Participants who undertake this course will benefit from three days of ‘face to face’ sessions, workshops and group activities, and will leave with a comprehensive understanding of the role and responsibilities of Chief Executive Officers in Local Government.

 The program is professionally facilitated by Mary Power from Henderson, Power & Associates. She will be assisted by experienced practitioners from Local Government and private industry.

At least two weeks prior to the workshop, participants will receive the manual covering the six written modules which must be studied before the commencement of the course. During the course, participants will be challenged to expand on their readings through case studies, group activities and professional presentations by practitioners.

Each module is presented by an individual who is highly qualified and experienced in the local government industry. Examples include:
