2010 Year of Women in Local Government

LGMA National has declared 2010 to be the “Year of Women in Local Government".

State and Territory LGMA Divisions, Local Government Departments and peak organisations, together with other Local Government stakeholder agencies have united to develop and implement activities and programs, to highlight the importance of the Year 2010 and that it achieves high visibility nationally.

LGMA WA has already established a YoWiLG WA Steering Committee, chaired by Gay Thornton, Deputy President LGMA to oversee the contribution to the Year 2010 in Western Australia and to coordinate a comprehensive program of events to ensure a high profile Year 2010 is implemented in Western Australia.

The Steering Committee invites all members to suggest any potential events such as PD workshops, luncheons or breakfasts to be incorporated into this exciting year.  Alternatively your Local Government may have existing events that you may wish to co-badge with the YoWiLG Steering Committee.  For further information please email luana@lgmawa.org.au
